Pernicious Anaemia.

This is a rare condition which affects the red blood cells. It is caused by a vitamin deficiency and means there is a lack of these oxygen carrying cells. It is a serious condition which can be life threatening if not treated. It tends to occur when there is an internal problem which prevents the sufferer from absorbing vitamin b into the body. This is the vitamin which is necessary for the body to manufacture the correct amount of red blood cells.

Sickle Cell Anaemia

This is another type of disease which affects the red blood cells. If you suffer from this you may well be asking why am I always sleepy and out of energy. With this type of anaemia the red blood cells become deformed and they are unable to carry oxygen around the body as they are supposed to. Sickle cell anaemia is an inherited condition. It is not something you can catch from another person.

Type 1 diabetes

This type of diabetes is normally diagnosed at a younger age. However, tiredness can be a symptom before it is diagnosed. It is a metabolic disorder in which the body does not produce the insulin necessary to control the amount of sugar in the blood. Other symptoms will go alongside this, such as increased thirst and/or hunger, polyuria (increased peeing) and maybe a sweet smelling breath. This is a very serious condition which will need treating for the rest of a sufferers life.

If you visit the doctor to get to the root of your problem he will consider these 3 common causes right at the start. With any luck it will prove to be a straightforward reason why you are always sleepy and out of energy.
